Google Scholar Labs, unveiled 18 November 2025, is Google Scholar's AI-powered search for detailed research questions. It returns a short, curated list of papers with an AI-generated structured summary of how each paper addresses the query — no overall synthesised answer — and results still link directly to publisher websites.

Dramatically shorter result lists: an example query returned 10 papers where equivalent regular Scholar search returned ~39,000.
