Research Bridge is a shared Model Context Protocol channel from Silverchair, launched on 5 October 2026 as a six-month pilot, through which AI research assistants can retrieve content from several independent scholarly publishers on the Silverchair platform through a single endpoint. Silverchair applies each publisher’s access controls, licensing rules and attribution at the point of retrieval, so that content reaches only entitled users, and each publisher keeps its own access rules, customer relationships and commercial model. The first participants are Royal Society Publishing, the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Diabetes Association, the Royal Society of Chemistry, Rockefeller University Press, Portland Press and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance, and Silverchair expects more publishers to join.
