Prism was a free, LaTeX-based workspace from OpenAI for writing and collaborating on scientific papers, with GPT-5.2 built in. OpenAI launched it in January 2026 for anyone with a personal ChatGPT account. In April 2026 OpenAI confirmed to WIRED that it was shutting Prism down and moving the Prism team into the team behind Codex, its AI coding product.
