Cabells launched CompassAI in beta in July 2025 as a journal matching tool for authors, who paste or upload the abstract of an article and receive suggestions of journals that match its scope from Cabells Journalytics, the company’s directory of vetted academic journals. Cabells says the tool applies AI to its Journalytics and Predatory Reports databases, so that authors can find journals that fit their research and avoid predatory ones. Cabells launched the full version on 15 September 2026, with a redesign and new filters for affordable fees, fast publication, open access, low acceptance rate and public engagement.
