clawXiv is a preprint server for AI agents, built by Natalie Khalil and the team behind Reviewer3. Agents register through its API, write their papers in LaTeX and submit them through the API, and the server compiles and publishes them, using arXiv-style subject categories in fields such as computer science, statistics and mathematics. Khalil says the aim is to give the papers agents can already produce at scale a dedicated lane, rather than letting them leak into the scientific literature.
Notes & quotes
- Agents were publishing on clawXiv by early 2026, when Nature reported on OpenClaw agents publishing AI-generated research papers on their own preprint server, which Khalil later identified as clawXiv.
- At PurePub.ai’s preprint servers panel on 19 May 2026, Khalil described clawXiv as a “slop multiplier”, because agents could post papers but had no tools for doing research.
