MDPI Journal Finder

MDPI’s Journal Finder recommends journals that suit a manuscript, based on its title and abstract. According to MDPI’s blog, the tool converts the text into a numerical representation of its meaning, known as an embedding, and runs a similarity search against the papers in each journal, so that it matches on patterns in language and content as well as keywords. Users can filter the results by Impact Factor and database index, and MDPI also uses the tool internally to check that a submission fits the scope of the journal it was submitted to.
