q.e.d

q.e.d is an AI review platform from QEDScience.com, founded by the molecular biologist Oded Rechavi and colleagues, that gives authors feedback on a manuscript before they submit it. It breaks the manuscript into its claims and supporting data, identifies gaps that call for further work or a revision of the claims, suggests solutions, and highlights the original aspects of the paper by comparing it with others. Reports are usually generated within 30 minutes. In November 2025 openRxiv started a pilot that lets bioRxiv authors send their own preprints to q.e.d from the Author Area, and openRxiv plans to extend the pilot to other manuscript-assessment tools. QED Science offers a free academic account to researchers.

Benefits & outcomes

  • openRxiv reports that feedback from scientists on q.e.d’s performance has been “very positive”.

Notes & quotes

  • “I’m impressed, the AI was very accurate at catching real gaps and suggesting logical (and mostly doable) experiments.” Dr Bluma Lesch, Yale, quoted on the QED Science site.
