Paper-Wizard was an AI service that reviewed manuscripts before researchers submitted them, built by the lab behind Explore Science. On 9 July 2026 Explore Science announced that Paper-Wizard had grown into Explore Science, a wider platform from the same lab, and existing accounts and reviews carried over. The manuscript review still gives comments with evidence and next actions tied to passages in the paper, now with a Calibre score out of 100, and a chat assistant called Rosa discusses the feedback. The platform also checks novelty against current literature, reviews protocols before a study runs, verifies references, screens for text similarity, AI-generated text and figures, retracted citations and tortured phrases, and matches papers to journals and grants.
