SciScore, from SciCrunch Inc., checks the methods sections of manuscripts for reporting rigour and transparency before peer review, screening against the MDAR, ARRIVE and CONSORT guidelines and flagging issues such as missing RRIDs, blinding, randomisation, power analysis and problematic cell lines. Authors receive Core, MDAR, STAR and ARRIVE reports and a score from 1 to 10, and SciScore integrates with Editorial Manager and eJournalPress. SciScore Version 3 beta, announced on 5 August 2024, added a redesigned report with a summary cover page, explanations with suggestions for improving the score, and a statistics module in which AI reviews the statistical methods used and guides expected reporting practice.
