Clarivate's Web of Science Research Assistant, launched September 2024 after a year of beta with librarians and researchers, runs generative AI over the Web of Science Core Collection: natural-language search across 120+ years of indexed research, guided tasks (Understand a topic, Literature review, Find a journal), and visualisations including trend graphs, topic maps and co-citation networks.
Benefits & outcomes
Answers grounded only in Core Collection data to limit hallucination.
Guided tasks structure common research jobs instead of leaving users to prompt-engineer.
Later enhancements: editable queries, structured responses, semantic search over the Web of Science knowledge graph.
